Cebu, Philippines — After winning a championship game in Surigao City, Coach Mondano travels to North Cebu. Whether or not returning coach Clint Mondano can live up to the hype as the “mentor” for the Carmen Makers will be known this Wednesday as the Makers take on the La Fortuna Consolacion for the second semifinal berth in the Carmen Invitational Basketball League Season 3.

The young coach was tapped anew to replace UC Assistant Coach Samontina in a bid to boost the title-retention campaign of the Makers.
The Makers had dropped three straight games before ending the slump last week with a come-from-behind 73-71 win over the Danao .
Known for his defensive ability, Mondano hopes to bring the Carmen second team back into fighting form when they collide with the Bogo Stars at 4 p.m.
Last season, Mondano Lead the makers to a third place win.
Expectations maybe high, but Mondano, who left the ROIS Knights of the Mandaue City Amateur Basketball Association in Mandaue City to join NorthEastern Mindanao Colleges in Surigao City will certainly give it's best.
“The biggest challenge for us is to go our there and play basketball and just have fun. To win the championship, we have to do what we got to do now,” said Mondano, who will team up with Coach Samontina.
The Makers are toting a 7-4 slate, trailing Consolacion for the lead in the six-municipality cage league.
Carmen manager Alas expressed excitement over Mondano’s return, but he believes it will take a team effort to arrest their recent slump.
“If not for the last five minutes of relentless defense from our point guards, we could have lost four straight,” Alas said.
