NEMCO Warriors outlast RTS Trainee on its first tune-up game, 80-43

February 7, 2011, Surigao City - NEMCO Warriors toughened up its defense in the stretch as it turned back RTS Police Trainee, 80-43, Monday to evaluate its first tune-up game in a new line-up.

“We made a quick adjustment on our defense and I told the players to take charge,” said Warriors coach Clint Mondano, who is hoping to steer the school to another championsip run on his first Open Tournament in Surigao City..

The Warriors had a strong start after seizing a 29-9 lead at the onset on strong play by Bryan Garde but wilted under tremendous pressure and tough defense by the RTS and slowed down after it.

“I know if we lose this is going to be the stepping stone on our preparation,” said the Sports coordinator Edgar Lisondra, who is on his fifth year as Team Mananger. “That’s why I always try to be a leader out there and take charge if needed.”

Mondano though expects his new line-up  to play 100 percent in time for their much awaited games.
