Warriors Win And Still Look Ahead

NEMCO, Surigao City---Prime time and the second game is still more than a week away. The tournament opening game agaist SEC, 64-61 win, served as reminder of the Warriors need for that extra time to prepare and make decisions.

The Warriors have not settled on a starting five as head coach Clint Mondano weighs options and considers its second game opponent the SSCT. In addition “We do have decisions to make in the next couple of days,” said Mondano. “We have put ourselves in a position to take a day or two and then gear up for that second  game. We can really lock in at practice.”

In addition there is the difficult call to make on the additions or addition to the 12 players already under the official-line-up for the Warriors roster. The league allows teams to carry 18players, but possible the Warriors will carry fewer than the 16 players. That was the dazzle, but the need for continued development showed up in Warriors turnovers against SEC.
“We have played very well at times and executed properly,” Mondano added. “At times we have also been undisciplined and not played with a purpose, but in general we have played hard and done a better job of rebounding.”
